About

About Leinala's Bakery

Arvi and Elli Leinala opened Leinala's Bakery in Sudbury in 1961. Elli had run a bakery in Helsinki with her sister before the family came to Canada. Their daughter Marjaana and her husband Mark took over in 1978, when the bakery was on Antwerp Avenue.

Sudbury.com profiled the third generation in 2022: siblings Aaron Laakso, head baker, and Erika Caron, manager and cake decorator. CBC marked the bakery's 60th year in 2021.

Today the shop is at 1769 Regent Street. On Facebook, 98 percent of 44 reviewers recommend it.
